All About Ms. Wood
I grew up in Jacksonville, FL, but I was born in Atlanta, GA and lived there for 3 years. I have a younger sister who teaches 3rd grade in Tallahassee, FL and 3 wonderful daughters. I attended St. Joseph's Catholic School, Bishop Kenny High School, and graduated from UNF with a degree in Secondary Biology Education.
This is my eleventh year teaching high school. This year I will be teaching Biology Honors at Wolfson High School, as an adjunct for NEFEC I will be teaching AP Environmental Science, Biology, Earth/Space Science, Forensic Science, and Physical Science, and work as an adjunct for Edgenuity Virtual. I also am certified to teach middle grades science and have a general science 5-9 certification.
I am one of the sponsors for the Environmental Club. I look forward to all the amazing accomplishments we will make this year!
In the summer of 2012, I attended ICORE's Emerging Pathogens course at UF and am very excited to share this experience with my students. I learned a great deal about pathogens that can harm humans, animals, and plants. I met some of the most amazing people and have made many new friends! Upon completing this course I became a HHMI scholar (Howard Hughes Medical Institute) and it is one of my proudest moments to date.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, the outdoors, and continuing my education.
